Prince William County Police Records

The Prince William County Police Records Division keeps incident reports, accident reports, arrest records, and local background checks. The records office is at 8400 Kao Circle, Euclid Business Center, Manassas, VA 20110. The phone is 703-792-6562. Hours are Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., except holidays.

Local background checks for Prince William County run $6.00. You need two forms of ID. One must be a photo ID with date of birth. Good ID forms include a driver's license, DMV card, passport, Social Security card, birth certificate, or military ID. The check can take up to 72 hours. The office takes cash, money orders, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa. Personal checks are not accepted.

You can also mail in a request. By mail you must send a notarized letter giving the police permission to do the check, copies of your ID, a self-addressed stamped envelope, and a money order made out to PWC Director of Finance. Check the background checks page for full instructions.

Court Records in Prince William County Residents Directory

Prince William County runs three main courts. The Circuit Court hears felony cases, civil cases over $25,000, divorce, custody, wills, and probate. The General District Court handles misdemeanors, traffic cases, and civil claims up to $25,000. The court is located at 9311 Lee Avenue, Manassas, VA 20110. The Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court handles family and child-related cases.

You can search most case info online through the Virginia Judicial System portal. Search by name, case number, or hearing date. The system shows case numbers, party names, charges, hearings, and outcomes. Juvenile records have limited online access for privacy reasons.

Prince William County keeps property records online through the county portal. You can search by address or owner name. Records include the parcel ID, owner, mailing address, assessed value, and tax history. Real estate is assessed at 100% of fair market value, as state law requires.

The county runs an ePortal for permits, plan submissions, and inspection requests. You can pay development fees through the same system. Tax bills can be viewed and paid online too.
